Play In a Banjo Orchestra
Increase Your Knowledge of Classic Banjo
Improve Your Playing Skills
The ABF has two rallies a year - a Spring Rally in late May and a Fall Rally in late October.  Enjoy jamming, round robin playing, and socializing with other classic banjo players.  Each rally has a theme so you are introduced to music or instruments that may be new to you.

Part of each rally is the banjo orchestra.  I know of no other opportunity to learn and play part of a banjo orchestra.  Tune up your classic banjo for 1st and 2nd parts.  Dust off your cello, banjeaurine or piccolo banjo to complete the orchestra.
Participating in and jamming at rallies is a great opportunity to improve you playing skills.  Working on exercises and
music published by the ABF will
broaden your classic banjo horizons.

History of classic banjo is a major part of the ABF.  Learn from and meet experts.  It is a great place to get your questions answered and learn about the classic banjo period.
The “5 Stringer” is the publication of the ABF.  It is currently published twice a year.  Issues have reports on the rallies, book and CD reviews, history articles, and other items of classic banjo interest.  The membership dues amount to $5 per issue.  What a deal!
The ABF maintains a library of thousands of classic banjo pieces.  Copies are available through the librarian for a nominal fee.  If you are looking for a special number, chances are we have it.
